“A project for a gigantic megalomaniac monument that I devoutly hope will never be realised. I have made a number of small assemblages – this one, Song of the Bone and ‘Swan Lake’ being three of them. Although all three suggested larger images, I have included them as works of art in their own right, thinking of them as the sculptor’s version of the poet’s epigram or haiku.”
